Half-time: West Ham 1 Chelsea 0

first_imgChelsea found themselves a goal down and a man down at the end of an action-packed first half at Upton Park.West Ham took the lead on 17 minutes when former QPR loanee Mauro Zarate beat Blues keeper Asmir Begovic at his near post after Diego Costa had fluffed his attempted clearance at a corner.Chelsea thought they had an equaliser when Kurt Zouma met Cesc Fabregas’ corner but goalline technology showed a slither of the ball was on the line when West Ham hacked it clear. The hosts launched an immediate counter-attack, which was ended by Matic’s cynical foul that earned him a yellow card – and was to contribute to his dismissal late in the half. Before then, Manuel Lanzini squandered a glorious chance to make it 2-0, dinking the ball over the bar when set clear by Dmitri Payet’s flick. And Chelsea were furious when Cesc Fabregas was flagged offside when through on goal, with replays showing he was level. But that was nothing compared to the explosive end to the half, when Matic blocked the run of Diafra Sakho on the touchline – and after consultation with his assistant, referee Jon Moss produced a second yellow card.Blues skipper John Terry led a mass protest and was booked, along with Cesc Fabregas, while Chelsea coach Silvino Louro was sent to the stands.West Ham: Adrian; Jenkinson, Tomkins, Collins, Cresswell; Kouyate, Noble; Lanzini, Payet, Zarate; Sakho. Subs: Randolph, Ogbonna, Obiang, Antonio, Carroll, Valencia, Jelavic.Chelsea: Begovic; Zouma, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta; Matic, Ramires; Willian, Fabregas, Hazard; Costa. NSA to Spy on U.S. Infrastructure: This Week in Online Tyranny

first_imgNSA to Spy on the Internet. The high-tech National Security Agency is establishing a program of covert surveillance of United States infrastructure facilities and on the Internet, according to the Wall Street Journal. The fantasmagorically creepy name they’ve chosen for it goes off like a warning siren. “The federal government is launching an expansive program dubbed ‘Perfect Citizen’ to detect cyber assaults on private companies and government agencies running such critical infrastructure as the electricity grid and nuclear-power plants, according to people familiar with the program.”China approves Google staying. Google threatened to pull out of China, less because of its tyranny than its tacit approval of hacking. It stopped its China service and redirected that URL to Google’s Hong Kong service. Now, it has agreed to put one more step between the Chinese consumers and unfiltered results. It’s important to remember, Google could have simply begun to render uncensored results on its China site. It did not. “Errors” in micro-blogging sites in China probably indicate government interference. Messages ranging from “beta” to “under maintenance” errors have begun showing up on half a dozen native micro-blogging services. Software allows dissidents to send hidden messages in Twitter messages and Flickr photos. The Collage program allows people a way around proxy servers and other easily shut-down avenues to speak freely online. If this works reliably, and can scale out to other shared-content sites, it could be a game-changer. However, as one online security specialist said to me, “Any government or organization, given enough time and enough money, can find anyone else online.”Egyptian blogger released. After over two years in prison, uncharged, Mus’ad Abu Fagr, proponent of Bedouin rights, was finally released on Tuesday. Welcome home, Mr. Fagr!Egyptian blogger goes on trial. Apparently worried about vacancy rates in their jails, Egypt is trying Amr Gharbeia this weekend before a criminal court in the Cairo district of Khalifeh on on politically-motivated cover-charges of insult, defamation, blackmail and “abuse of the Internet service.” Hundreds of influential Chinese bloggers’ accounts deleted. Popular Chinese blog service Sohu deleted over 100 bloggers’ accounts on July 14. Many are “influential public opinion leaders, political dissidents and citizen rights activists.” Photo of the Conciergerie by Ian Duffy Tags:#Government#international#web Why Tech Companies Need Simpler Terms of Servic… A Web Developer’s New Best Friend is the AI Wai… Related Posts curt hopkins Top Reasons to Go With Managed WordPress Hosting 8 Best WordPress Hosting Solutions on the Marketlast_img read more

At some point after they arrive Brady seeks them out, walks up and says plainly, “Hi, I’m Tom Brady.”Linebacker Kyle Van Noy said he still remembers his reaction to hearing those words. It was October 2016 and Van Noy, following a trade from Detroit, arrived at the team facility about 5:30 a.m.. Hours later while on a restroom break from a meeting, he turned and saw an outstretched hand.“Tom comes up and kind of shakes my hand like, ‘Hi, I’m Tom Brady.’ And I’m like, ‘You’re an idiot.’” Van Noy said. But he said the moment was emblematic of a player he has no doubt will be at his best on Super Bowl Sunday.“Those little things are why he’s where he’s at,” Van Noy said. “Those little things that people don’t pay attention to, those detailed things, that just separates him.
