Jack Wilshere update: Arsenal ace expected back in FOUR weeks

first_img Jack Wilshere Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger expects Jack Wilshere to be out for four weeks. The midfielder has suffered another injury setback after sustaining a hairline crack to his fibula. It was initally feared the 23-year-old would be sidelined for two months, but Wenger has revealed the issue is not as bad as first feared and he is hopeful Wilshere will return in September.“I count four weeks [out]. It is bad luck and purely accidental,” said the Frenchman.“It is a hairline crack in his fibula at the region where they took the screws off. So I believe it is a straight injury.“It is a bone injury, so that means there is no surprise there. It just needs time to heal.“The news that we got on Thursday is that it could be much shorter than expected because he is two weeks in a protective boot and maybe after he can practice straight away again.”Wenger will also be missing Alexis Sanchez for the Premier League opener against West Ham on Sunday. The Chilean has only recently returned to training following Chile’s exploits in the Copa America, and the Arsenal boss has decided not to throw him straight into action. 1last_img read more
