The Mid Value Fundraising Group was set up in July 2014 following the Institute of Fundraising Conference.Co-founder Millie Perrett at Marie Curie Cancer Care said that the event had shown that “many charities had recently established or were seeking to establish programmes in this relatively new area of fundraising”.She explained:“Mid Value programmes seek to bridge a gap between the traditional individual giving supporter base and major donor portfolios, and bring a particular set of challenges. The aim of the Group is to share learnings on best practice, and to support each other as we work to provide the best journeys for our donors and increase income for our charities through these important programmes”. One university fundraiser said: “we consider donations between £1k-£10k as mid-value, higher is major gifts, lower annual fund”. For other charities of course, £10,000 would count as a major gift. The group held its first meeting in August and over 40 people have joined the online discussion forum. The group is not an official Institute of Fundraising group, but its founders will consider that move if the group flourishes. You can find out more about the The Mid Value Fundraising Group from Millie Perrett.
