As part of the event, an exhibition on Via Dinarica in Croatia was organized.Via Dinarica program UNDP – United Nations Development Program has started in Croatia, and the activities of the project team continue through the Association Via Dinarica Croatia, specializing in the sustainable development of mountain and rural tourism and social partnership in the Dinarides. The program is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Croatia and is the leading project for the development of mountain tourism in Croatia. In cooperation with the Croatian Tourist Board and county and local tourist boards, the Croatian Mountaineering Association, the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service, mountaineering guide stations, the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and public institutions for the management of protected areas, numerous partners – entrepreneurs in the Dinarides.Via Dinarica mountain trailVia Dinarica is a longitudinal route for hikers, cyclists and other lovers of active holidays. It stretches from Slovenia to Albania, with about 40% of the road leading through Croatia. In Croatia, Via Dinarica has a total of 57 stages, and includes six national parks, four nature parks, two strict reserves and numerous attractive Croatian landscapes. Respectable tourist magazine “Outdoor” declared Via Dinarica the best new hiking trail in the world, “Active Traveler”, “National Geographic” and “Geo” ranked it among the 10 most beautiful trails in the world, and the trail is one of the best new destinations in presented to the world on numerous tourist portals. One of the basic goals of Via Dinarica is to promote the local economy and thus bring tourists closer to local food, accommodation and various services. To this end, last year Via Dinarica was presented with an exhibition and conference at the European Parliament in Brussels, and the mountain beauties of Croatia were also presented at Via Dinarica at several prestigious tourism fairs abroad. Regional partners are focused on the implementation of targeted development projects since in addition to all existing attractions and infrastructure, on the Via Dinarica there are many investment needs to ensure everything needed for quality visits, as well as the development of mountainous and rural areas.Several dozen mountaineers from developed European countries and from the USA and Canada have already passed the Via Dinarica along its entire length, and these days Croatian mountaineers Kristijan Karlušić and Ante Rosić are crossing the white line of the Via Dinarica. Krka National Park is located on the blue and white lines of Via Dinarica, providing a unique link between the coast and the mountainous hinterland. Via Dinarica is especially important for the development of tourist potentials of the Krka National Park and the wider Šibenik-Knin County precisely because the Krka River springs just below the highest Croatian mountain Dinara (1831 m), which gave its name to the entire Dinaric Mountains and Via Dinarica program.Related news:NEW VISITORS CENTER OPENED IN LAŠKOVICA, NEW STARTING POINT FOR ACTIVE VISITING TO KRKA NPNATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC TRAVELER NAMED VIA DINARICA THE BEST DESTINATION IN THE WORLD FOR 2017last_img read more
